Maybe we can be a part of yours! Regardless, we can't wait to get to know you more and hear all about your special plans!
First and foremost, we like to think of our clients as our friends. So you can depend on us to support you during the whole process of planning your wedding! Whether that's to help you pick colors, finding the perfect venue, or just getting together over coffee for a much needed break! (Not to mention, we're from Seattle! We need coffee to survive!)
We believe it's this approach that brings us the best clients in the world! In fact, the chemistry we share with our wedding couples is so important, we don't always take every wedding that comes to us. Wedding negotiations are a very serious business. When planning your meetings with potential vendors, make sure you bring your serious, professional faces and keep all laughter and nonsense out of the discussion.
Take for example the meeting we had with potential clients last night… WE ARE STRICTLY BUSINESS.
Today was a good day. This morning, I met up with one of my best friends for breakfast at a little place in town called Gardner’s Market. It’s a fantastic little deli/shop/everything-that-is-awesome-and-good place and I truly don’t go enough. I mean, it’s literally just two blocks away from where I live. What is wrong with me?! Anyway…
Christy-Anne is such a beautiful person and I love her oh-so-very-much. Her birthday was a couple days ago and we hadn’t seen each other or spent time together in ages, so we made a date. Christy-Anne was one of my bridesmaids (and I, one of hers) and now she’s an expecting mom-to-be and I am just so proud of her! I’m not sure where the pride comes from exactly… She’s just so amazing and she’s going to be a fantastic mother. I’m actually kinda envious of the baby… Seriously, she’s going to be SUCH a great mother.
At the last minute, I decided to take my camera because I thought to myself, I haven’t taken any photos of my life in a while… Just regular photos of randomness… So here are a couple of photos from this morning’s tiny venture. I really must do this more often…
I have to say that as much as I look forward to going home to Seattle, there will be things, people mostly, that I’ll miss desperately here in Tennessee. Christy-Anne, you are most definitely one of them…
So by now, you must’ve thought I totally forgot about my little iTunes gift card give-away! And I don’t blame you! Sorry for the delay! After a random drawing, the winner is… Commenter 6! Congratulations, Nekey! Please email me at info@carlybish.com and we’ll send your iTunes gift card straight away!
Rich Smith - Love that place. I really, really want that rockin' rocking chair they have at the front of the store. The most comfortable chair ever.March 6, 2010 - 10:57 am
It’s been a while since we’ve had a family session here on the blog! And what a great way to break into March (even though we got about 3 inches of snow this morning)!
Say “hello” to the Hakes’ family of seven! When Faith (the Mom) emailed me about scheduling a shoot, I knew right away we would get along. Her phrasing went something like, “I’d like to a book a family sitting… I mean, I don’t plan on you sitting on my family, but maybe taking some photos of me sitting on them?… Are you interested?”
And I’m like, “HECK YES!”
We met up in Chattanooga, ran around a park, and eventually found a small field where I tortured the kids and arranged them until they were a grassy mess. It was great!
So let’s get to know Faith, her husband Gary, and their kids Taylor, Tori, Big L, Little L, and Girly L.
Huge THANK YOU to Cyndi of Cyndi T. Photography (who you recently got to know here) for coming out to help and bringing along her brand new Canon 50D! It was a pure joy to photograph the Hakes family. These kids were just so happy and care-free, I couldn’t help being a bit envious for childhood again! And kudos to superhero mom, Faith! Not only is she mother to five kids but she’s also their teacher too! I honestly don’t think I could do it… Seriously blown away.
I’ve decided to open the books up a little more for any last-minute photoshoots only because George and I are really feeling the moving-across-the-country pressure and would like to create as much buffer room as possible before our big adventure. So if you’re still looking for some carlybish action before we leave, feel free to send in your inquiries. There’s still time to book a shoot!
Okay, and one last thing! This family just puts me in a good mood and I feel like spreading the love! So share some love to the Hakes family, pick your favorite photo or just say something nice in the comments and you’ll be entered for a chance to win an iTunes gift card! So feed the comment-monster and get some monster-lovin’ back! (Only comments received now through 12:00am EST today, 3/2/2010, will be eligible.)
Dana Noga - OMG - the pictures are beautiful! I wish I had pictures like that of my family - they just show the true "child" in the kids.
I love them!March 2, 2010 - 10:43 pm
Lindsi - My favorite is definitely the faces in a circle...looks like such a fun family! Faith definitely is a lot stronger of a woman that I ever will be...5 kids and a teacher!March 2, 2010 - 10:41 pm
Anna - Great photos!March 2, 2010 - 10:16 pm
kristin - Sooo beautiful! I wanna do pics again!!!! P.S. … wait til you see my dress!March 2, 2010 - 10:03 pm
threedeadflies - Wow, Carly! You really do have talent! Your composition and lighting is really great. Even the flare is nice in a few of the shots -- gives those shots a whimsical flavor. So natural and candid. I really enjoyed these!
My favorite? Well, I keep coming back to the little girl facing right (in the frame) and looking at the camera (to her right) over her shoulder and reaching toward her shoulder as though to pull her sweatshirt up onto her shoulder. That is such a common thing people do when they are out at play and you just "caught" her... just right. Very very nice!March 2, 2010 - 9:32 pm
Marisa - My favorite is with Faith and Gary by the door and all the kids running. They look like they're talking without taking in all the craziness!March 2, 2010 - 8:57 pm
Nekey - What great pics!!!!March 2, 2010 - 8:45 pm
Faith - Just commenting to comment, not to enter the contest. I like them all....but I'm too close to the subjects to choose a favorite really so you can't listen to me LOL I do however really enjoy the one with Tori and I and then Big L in the background with his evil little grin....not sure what he was planning but it looks devious!March 2, 2010 - 4:35 pm
Michelle Sidles - Nice job Carly!! What a fun looking group. And KUDOS to mom for schooling them, too. I KNOW that I couldn't do it.
I love the shot of you shooting. :)March 2, 2010 - 3:02 pm
Heidi and Rachel - love the pictures :) we like the one of the family holding hands. i can't wait for you to shoot my wedding!March 2, 2010 - 2:21 pm
Cynthia - So much fun. Leave me out of the contest, of course I'm leaving a comment, but my favorite is the one of them all coming down the slide so much fun AND when there running across.March 2, 2010 - 1:13 pm
Dixie - These are such fun pictures! I love them all. If I had to pick, I really like the shot of them laying in the grass together and the one of them lined up along the building!March 2, 2010 - 1:10 pm
