Spring Pandemic Bride / Editorial Collaboration

Just days before our state declared a state of emergency and went into a “shelter in place” mandate, I had originally scheduled springtime mini sessions in my studio. Because of the sudden nature and concern for COVID-19, several of my originally scheduled minis were cancelled.

The problem was that I had asked my dear friend and past bride, Amy, of @capitalblooms, to create a floral installation for the sessions. The flowers were delivered and I desperately wanted to make the most of the beautiful work Amy would create.

So with less than 24 hours before the short list of mini sessions I still had booked, I got in touch with Marivel, the designer for @flutterdress, and my friend, Angie @makeupartist.angela, an extremely talented MUAH who just happens to live closeby. Last but not least, I put out a model call and was introduced to Bridget @baguette_you, and suddenly, I had a collaboration and some beautiful images to add to my portfolio.

I don’t usually do styled shoots. It’s hard for me to come up with them, make them original and not end up with something totally trendy. But in this case, there was no time to think. Only time to create. And the talented people I asked to join me were free to play with their talents and do what felt good. And I ended up with some of my favorite work in years.

Thank you, my friends.

Stay safe, stay home, stay well. And we’ll do it all again. I promise.
